Goto START --> SETTINGS --> CONTROL PANEL
Then goto into NETWORK
look for a entry that says TCP/IP if more than one entry poick the one that is linked to your network card
if you cannnot see TCP/IP entry click ADD --> PROTOCOL --> MICROSOFT --> TCP/IP
select the TCP/IP entry and click PROPERTIES button
opn the first window to appear u should have manually assigned ip addresses
if there is a number in ip Address then this is the number u should b connecting to..
if the number are not here
put something like this in both machine
machine 1
ip address 10.1.1.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
machine 2
ip address 10.1.1.2
subnet 255.255.255.0
this should sort u out
just remember to write down the ip address of the machine u wish to connect too.
Fetish_fish salutes u..
