I've had an ongoing problem with my compaq presario 5284, W98, IE 5.1, 95% free resources on startup, of when I disconnect from the modem the pc freezes. I've tried all of the obvious, such as, reinstalling modem, etc. The lastest error message I received was Exception 06 occurred at 0028:00000037 in VxD--- called from 0028:C16 E05BA in VxD. I fixed it once, but I don't remember what I did. The good news is that if I let it sit it will restart itself after about 15 minutes. This started a couple days ago. I've tried so many fixes, I'm not sure now what got it that far. Before I had to turn the main power off. Any Ideas?
