Dial-up modems can never fully reach 56K due to government regulations, phone lines themselves, and the ISP.

You can tweak your computer and/or ask the phone company to clean up your phone lines to get as much as you can from dial-up.

I would really suggest some kind of highspeed internet access.

Hope that helps.

What ISP service are you using to start with ......and If you at the end of the telephone line the slower you will connect are you a separtist and live like 25 mile out of town.............

also make sure you telephone line is not coiled up behind something I haven't ran that slow since I moved from a place like that...........

also check in the modem connectoid and make sure it is set up properly

just double click on my computer and double click on dial up networking you will see you dial up adapters ,,,,, right click on it and select properties

click on configure under general tab and make sure it says 57600
