Consult the hardware (motherboard) documentation that came with your machine.

Standard way to enter cmos setup is during power-on booting. Most bios will start showing you some initial information and then suggest you press the DEL (delete) key (if you got your machine second hand, the previous owner may have suppressed this display).

Some manufacturer prefer different keystrokes, for a Dell machine try F2, for Compaq try F10.

Once you enter cmos setup, you will be presented with a menu selection. If you see it for the first time, take some minutes to study the entries you see. You will always be asked if settings should be stored when you leave cmos setup - if you don't forget to answer "no" - you can always go thru the different option settings without any harm done. Don't change any settings that concern memory and CPU setup (spead etc).

One of the items you will find in cmos setup will be the boot sequence.

You may ask why J cannot give more precise information: there are no standards, and you didn't mention make of your machine nor bios manufacturer - but even then the option may be moved within the menus from one bios release to next, and wording may change.
