I've read Smitty's recent thread; think my problem is different. Recently upgraded from 128mg to two 256mg going from 100 to 133 speed; I know becuase my AMD processor/motherboard only equipped to handle 100 that's the max. however; I keep geeting error message, "Invalid dynamic link call to device #3 service B. Windows config is invalid. Run windows setup program to correct problem." I know enuf to be dangerous; can anyone tell me how to do windows setup program?
THANX

I would put the old ram back in first to see if the problem goes away........

Associate,
Thank you for the response. I've checked out the articles and will put back old memory and also try limiting to 256. I'll post my results. Thanx again,

normally that error msg comes up when one of window's drivers or system files is corrupted or doesn't load. could be bad mem. one thing is if your motherboard will not support PC-133 i wouldn't put it in, try never to mix PC-100 and PC-133 up(EX. have one sick pc-100 other PC-133) some motherboard will not support that and some memory chips will not down clock to 100 which causes mem problems. to run windows Setup just boot on a windows 98 or ME bootdisk, stick your windows 98 or me cd in and switch to your cd-rom driver or type setup. A good thing to do is always copy the windows Cab files onto the hard drive, I always put them on c:\windows\options\cabs
that way if i have any windows problems i can just F8 and say boot comand prompt and reinstall from there.

DJ-Kain & Associate,
Thanx for the help info & input! I changed the limit of RAM up to 256 and am now booting up w/no problems. However, don't think all of the 512 will be able to be utilized until I upgrade the motherboard. I may try to go back in and change the limit to 512 and see what happens,
In any event, I REALLY APPRECIATE your help and at least I'm booting w/o shutdowns for now! Jflem
