Pls help, I'm new!!
I have 1Ghz, 256Mb Ram, GeForce2, (sorry, that's all I remember right now, I'm at work). During 2nd day of game play, my system totally froze. Despite everything I tried, or should I say because of things I've tried, the game won't even start now. DiabloII suggests DirectX7 (I thought that I had installed DX8). I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with having appropriate drivers. I may need detailed instructions on how to uninstall/install/upgrade to appropriate devices required to play. Please don't laugh too hard, like I said, I'm new, and really frazzled right now. DiabloII support has been no help to me. (no fault of their's)

if you suspect DirectX to be the cause, then use the diagnostic tool that comes with it. Run the tests on each tab. Then you may know how to configure your display adapter (if that is the reason).

As DiabloII freezing, it happens alot with all my friends computers too. DiabloII is good at causeing lag and your computer freezing is probably cause of that. If you are like me and like to play diablo for hours strait sometimes, that may be a problem. Your computer may heat the cd in the cd rom/DVD drive and cause the game to freeze your computer. Restarting your computer/ shutting it off periodically may help this problem. With your game not working, DiabloII had a patch that one time did the same to me. It is probalby fixed by now though so no sweating that.

Ok, i'm a Diablo EXPERT, this is what u have to do.
Make complete installation of Diablo 2, after that make the video proof, if u have a 2D card u'll get the recommendation to use 2D graphics card and the same for any 3D card. After that Diablo should run perfectly, if it doesn't just quit, get yr Diablo2 go to the shop, and get a new one or a refund for it.
I'm serious, Diablo 2 just needs Direct x7, its req. are not big thing, if stil doesn't work just go to the shop and get an other one.
