hi there,
we have a win2k application server, running dns services and a pdc, also win2k.
when i try to get some ip adresses by nslookup on the app-server, there is no problem.
by doing the same on the pdc, there are some problems: nslookup does well, but the answer of the DNS server is that the server has no name... but the service functions well, it gives me the ip adr. from all clients... well, may be i am not that "fit" administrating dns.. thanks for your help in advance...

Sounds as if you haven't got the reverse DNS lookups configured correctly, and check whether the reverse DNS zone for your network is delegated to your nameserver.

Forward DNS maps a name to the IP address. While reverse DNS allows an host to map an IP address to a hostname.
