I am new to this forum so hello everybody.
When the virus is clear I was unable to open .exe files - I have got instructions off here to sort this problem out. which I will be trying tonight.
As a stop gap though although you cannot open .exe files directly if you double click on the associate file it will open the program file.
example to open Excel Double click on an existing file with a .xls extension and this should open a the program.
My Floppy drive doesn't work at the moment (another thing I must get sorted), so I posted the exefix.reg file to my Web E-Mail address.
I open a connection to explorer through "My Computer then the Dial-up Networking section. I then click on an existing html web page which sould open up explorer, enabling me to open my Web E-Mail and down load the patch to correct my registry.
I hope this may help someone
