I am trying to add the right-click option "Set as Wallpaper" for GIF, JPG, and BMP images because there are times when I want to add, or at least view, an image on my desktop without wanting to have to first load it up in Internet Explorer. Is there a way to add this funciton? Does anyone know how, or at least, know where to find the registry insert? I can't seem to find it...

Can anyone Please help me?

I'm not familiar with this but I recalled that someone mentioned about filenames or registry values of Netscape or IE Wallpaper. Use Find function to search the keyword from your harddisk or registry.

Get an image file viewer. Irfan View is a good free one. You can view images, and convert formats, and it has an inbuilt option (controllable)to associate itself with file types.
You should be able to find it on the net, but if you can't, post back here and I'll email it to you

Agreed.

I'm using ACDSee and it does have a function to set current file as wallpaper, either in centered or tiled mode, and event restore previous wallpaper for me. It's very fast in displaying graphics.

Sure - ACDSee is probably a bit better than I-view, but I-view is freeware. And I think there's another free one called L-View Pro. The whole point is why use Internet Explorer to display graphic files when there are so many quick & simple alternatives.
I-view allows set as wallpaper, and return to previous. What it doesn't have that ACDSee does is the ability to show thumbnails of a directory of images, nor does it have a slideshow. However, it's probably even a bit quicker than ACDSee. But either one is a good prog

OK, I've Got Paint Shop Pro 5 And I Use The Browse Function With That. Simply This... It Brings Up All The Images In Whatever Directory That It Is Currently Pointed To And Puts Them Into A Thumbnail Collection For Viewing...

What I Was Looking For Though Was Something, Or A Registry Tweak, That Would Allow Me To Send An Image To My Desktop Instead Of Having To Bring It Up In Internet Explorer And Do It That Way! What A Waste Of Time That Is...

I'm Still Looking For Any Alternatives To Adding The Function To GIF, JPG, And BMP Files...

Both ACDSee and IrfanView have a "Set as Wallpaper" option available. ACDSee even lets you select Centered or Tiled from within the application
