Win98 Install Problem

i got a prob...i bought a new comp and now when i try to install win98 it does not allow me to..all it says is dignosis software installed..i have installed my cdrom dirvers(ithink)..and can view the files on the wincd but can't change directory it says invalid directory..can anyone give me sugestions as to what is wrong

I think more information is required. When you bought it, what was installed? If something else is (like Windows ME), then you have to either create a duel boot or uninstall what is there.

The Win98 CD is bootable. Try hitting F2 or the Del key on startup to access the BIOS. Then locate the Boot screen and change the order to something like:

First boot device=ATAPI CD-ROM Drive
Second boot device=hard drive
Third boot device=removeable drive

Setup should start automatically.
