is the other drive also an NTFS volume or a FAT (just supporting the 8.3 size)?

Thanks Richard.
Yes both the drives are NTFS Volume.
Windows2000 is running on my machine.
When i'm copying to another Win2k machine, i faced the same error.
Thanks in advance

Are you copying few files from a directory to another or are you copying a whole tree ?
In this case the cause coould be the limitation of the whole path name, even LFN has limitations (about 250 car. max).

I'm copying the entire tree, which i 've dowloaded from the microsoft.com.
Since it is a free tool, i 'ven't changed the default name.B'coz the setup may not run if i change the name.
The directory or file name contains periods it seems.
It was copied only once, the next time i couldn't.
Thanks
Pilla
