RE-FORMAT question

i just reformatted my hard drive.
i tried to install win98se with cd-rom support but the a: prompt is just sitting there, blinking.

how can i go on ?

You need to change the directory to you're CD ROM Drive so it can find it and explore the CD to find the 98 files to install. Use cd X: (where X= the letter of your CD ROM Drive). It should change to that drive. Then type dir to see the contents of this drive, and you should be able to go from there. Good Luck.

another approach, depends on your hardware:
during initial boot phase of your computer, go into CMOS setup and change the boot device to use the cdrom in the first place. J believe Win98 was already bootable from cdrom. After installation set again the harddisk in first place.
