I'm running a clean install of Win2K and my system reboots at random while I am connected to the internet. This first started happening when I was logged onto NetZero, so I thought it had something to do with the application. But last night it happened when I was logged onto my other ISP. I get a quick blue screen but the computer reboots before I can read it. The system log says that a dump was written, but I don't know how to read the thing. There isn't one particular action that causes the reboot as far as I can tell. Can anyone help?

I noticed a related topic on this board that talks about power management. I am going to turn off the suspend feature and see if that makes a difference, but any other feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good idea for a solution.

If that doesn't give you any joy though, you might want to think about other programs that are running in the background.

Users of ICQ etc. can be pretty vuneralble to "hack attacks" of this nature, where sappy people send packets of data to your computer which re-start or crash your machine.

Other causes could be as simple as a bad installation - IE can be quite moody at times.

Java is also known (still) for being quite slow and un-stable. When your system does this thing, are the web-sites you are viewing using Java applets?
