my pci bus for hard drive has a yellow "!". what can I do?
I tried reinstalling the driver already - doesnot help. when the system boots in a safe mode - everything is fine. it is something to do with booting windows drivers and, probably, the network.

Did you just buy a new hard drive? I had a similar problem a while back when I installed a new HD. My problem came about because I installed the new HD as the slave during the image copying process. If this is the case, install your new HD as the master before doing your image copying.

Also, try booting in safe mode. Then go to device manager (right click my computer....) and delete the offensive object. Reboot, and Win should reload your driver with no conflicts.

When Win boots in safe mode, you'll find that none of the IRQs are assigned (except for the essentials like keyboard and mouse). I would assume that the drivers aren't loaded, either. Also, I've tried to delete the offensive object in normal mode, but that doesn't help (as you've found out).

Anyway, hope this is a fix.

I have already heard a similar solution - to disconnect all the devices, except for HD; then run OS to detect them; then connect the devices back.

it may be the solution, but too complicate.

I have already tried to boot in a safe mode - it detects all drivers fine.
But as soon as I boot in normal mode - the problem is back again.

Did you try deleting the offensive object while in Safe Mode? I think this is key. Give it a try.
