I'm pretty new at all this so please assume I know nearly nothing. Recently my brother had to put Win98 back on as I'd crashed it and I have 2 problems one of which concerns Outlook Express so I'll try posting elsewhere and the other is my sound card is not working.
It's a Avance Logic ALS 4000 and when we try Add Hardware this make does not come up. So after fiddling around for hours I downloaded a driver from the net and tried to get the wizard to find it. I gave it the location as it had been unzipped to but it just wasn't having it. I just haven't the faintest idea how to marry the driver to the system. Appreciate your help.

try this man...

go to Control Panel and open System icon...

then go to Hardware Manager and there find your Avance Logic sound card... then download the drivers again (if possible from different locations) and unzip them to floppy dirve and update the drivers...

i think that it really should work

regards, SuLc

IT goes into 3 branches: hardware, software and nowhere.

Make sure in the location that you unzipped the files is an .inf file or it wont find the necessary information for the card
