Is there any way to connect two PC's with a USB AM/AM cable? And if so, do I need some special software or drivers? Microsoft's Direct Cable Connection can already allow the transfer of files between two computers with a parallel and serial cable. And it can even allow infrared ports to exchange data. But it doesn't support USB. Is there any way around that?

Just saw your post. There are two [or more] ways to do what you want. A Hewlett Packard I set up for a client included free software called DETTO which will allow migration of files from old computer to new using a USB cable, but you have to buy the cable from them [$29.95]. Laplink now has software and a USB cable to do the same thing. These do not have all the functionality of either a Fast Ethernet network setup or a Wireless network. A Home Phone Network also works. Advantage of a network with Win98SE is Internet Connection Sharing, which I use with 3 - 5 computers.
