Hi
I run my other computer only for music and I need a slim, quick, agile system.
Is there a way to see what and how much is going on in my registry, and can I get rid of things I don't need, like internet based things?

I hsven't personally done this, but I have been told that it works (It's a little trick used by people who install PCs in thier vehicles to be used as MP3 players)
You will lose functionality of the Windows operating system, but in the msdos.sys (I think) you can tell the operating system to use, for example, winamp as your shell rather than explorer.
what this does for you is it simply loads winamp, but does NOT load what most people commonly refer to as "windows" like the start menu, the desktop, etc.... In turn making the systme much more streamlined and quicker to boot
As I said.... I have never done this, so I am not sure of exactly how it works, but I HAVE played with changing the default shell, etc...
If this way of going about what you are looking for interrests you... you might want to search the web for home-made in-car MP3 players
good luck
