We have a small multi-homed network (40 users) and about half of them cannot access the Internet (via a DSL connection) because the ROUTE ADD -P 0.0.0.0...etc. command that executes when they log on returns an error. An admin must log on at the machine, run IPCONFIG /RELEASE, IPCONFIG /RENEW, the ROUTE ADD -P string and then log off and have the user log back in. They then have access. Any reboot "breaks" their connection. Why...and why only some users and not others, when 99% have identical privileges? All are running WinNT 4.0 SP6a, MSIE 5.5. The few Win2K machines do not have this problem, admin or not. Help!
