So I downloaded Google updater, and it gave me Spyware Doctor+antivirus When I try to run it, it won't allow me to even do a virus scan, it just shows the loading bar, and it won't get anywhere past 0% and when I click to turn intelliguard or, computer immunization on nothing happens they refuse to turn on  I'm worried that I might have a virus that might be stopping it from working. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and I'm fairly sure it's not the Conficker virus, as I can still go to all antivirus websites.

A bit of history please.

Did you ever have any other anti-malware, anti-spyware or anti-virus installed?

How long have you been running without or with protection prior to getting the google pack SD/AV? Please be specific on the with or without.

This is the 1st type of protection that I've used, and I've been running without any protection other then the Microsoft updates since the 4th of this month.

will that might be a problem especially if you have been online during that time.
you might want to start scanning and disinfecting as you will most likely be infected, i would recommend malwarebytes antimalware, avast antivirus (run scan as a boot time scan), avira antivir, superantispyware or norton security free scan.

note* when you install these virus scanners you will need to disable the protection features, also try installing i scanner at a time and then removing that virus scanner after cleaning.
note** malwarebytes antimalware can be kept if you wish.

Here is a cheat sheet for you.

I suggest that you do a systematic cleanup. You need to use multiple tools and this will take a lot of scan time.

Clean Restore Points
Manually create a new restore point
\Windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

Run Disk Cleanup
\windows\system32\cleanmgr.exe
and choose options , delete all but the current restore point.

Download, install and run CCleaner with Cleaner and Registry options.

If you have Spyware Doctor, perform an update and full scan. Temporarily disable it.

If you have an Antivirus program, perform an update and full scan. Temporarily disable it.

Download, install and update and scan Avira free edition antivirus.

Download, install and update and full scan Superantispyware.

Download, install and update and full scan Malwarebytes Antimalware.

Uninstall or disable the real time protection of Superantispyware (it has real time protection that may conflict with SD).

Uninstall or disable real time protection of Avira (you never want more than one AV program running).

Malwarebytes is OK to leave as is.

Enable Spyware Doctor and your antivirus program.

Re-boot.

If this does not clean up your system, then you have some really bad malware and it will take a lot more time to research and find out what it is.

When you are all done, you should have only Spyware Doctor and the Antivirus of your choice in the Information Tray.

I did all of your suggestions, I had like 109 adware cookies found, but that was it. All of the malware checkers virus detectors worked fine for me except for spyware doctor. It still won't scan, and it still won't do anything when I try to turn on Intelliguard. Everything's telling me that my computers clean now though, do you think that it's just that my computer and Spyware Doctor don't get along, or do you think I have some malware that none of these things can detect. Also I'm not sure if it matters, my computers been running fine, and doesn't seem to show any indications of a virus.

No, not normal behavior.

I would run windows recovery console and run fixmbr and fix boot, but I think that I would like achen to comment on this one.

Could you provide a screenshot of the SD GUI when you open SD?

Please complete the following to troubleshoot the problem further:

1. Click on Start (Windows symbol)
2. Click in the empty box under All Programs
3. type %temp% and hit Enter
4. Find the files below
5. Setup Log YYYY-MM-DD.txt
6. Attach all the latest files that have the same date.

Could you then try going into safemode and see whether you can run SD?

I went into Safemode and it worked the way it's supposed to Here's a screenshot of what it found
http://i46.tinypic.com/1zx3afa.jpg
None of the other malware/spyware protectors found these.

If it is working in safemode, this means there is a possibility that something on your system is conflicting with SD... another process or application.

Is it possible to attach the setup logs? as this will help us to see what it could be.

And also a screenshot of the GUI in normal mode? It may be stuck in 'checking' and this means the service is not starting etc...

before I do anything else I'm going to uninstall and reinstall it, and see if that might possibly fix it.

If you could send the logs before you do this, that might help us to see the original problem ;)

Crap, my bad AChen I had already uninstalled it before I read your message :( There isn't any way that I could regain those logs for you is there? Also now that I've reinstalled it and removed all of the bad stuff from my computer it's working for me now.

Good to hear that the problem is now fixed.
You should be able to grab the setup files even if you reinstalled SD. You just have to track down the dates on when the problem occurred.
It would be good if you can provide this info for future reference.

I'm looking at the history log but I'm not sure how to copy it for you, as I can't highlight it.

No problem! I hope it helps out in finding out what's wrong, and I really appreciate all the help from everyone. I'll be recommending Spyware Doctor to my friends :)
