i got network server with intet dual prosessor motherboard. It has got adaptecs ultrascsi controller. Well machine has got scsi cable with four connectors.i have three ibm harddisks attached to it. the fourth connector is free. When i connected hp dat drive to that connector the machine doesn't recognise any of the hard disk.It just rescans for the scsi disks. I checked scsi id's and they are all unique. What could be the problem .? If anybody could help me

J am wondering if this is a scsi bus termination problem. Check documentation that should have been supplied with the harddisks. Problem would be with the last disk in chain of previous configuration and/or new disk if added to end of chain. Depending on manufacturer and device, termination can be enabeled / disabled by jumpers or switches on the drive unit.
