Tweak UI version 1.33 can do it. Go to the "Control Panel" tab and uncheck the items that you don't want to show on the control panel.

Open Notepad, choose c:\windows\control.ini and add this:

[don't load]
APPWIZ.CPL=no
DESK.CPL=no

Appwiz prevents them from uninstalling.
Desk prevents them from cahnnging Display Properties.

Adding all .cpl files under this section will eliminate the icons. Do a search for *.cpl in the c:\windows\system directory.

Is there any way to prevent particular users from seeing certain control panel icons. The control.ini affects all users doesn't it?

actually it would be the tweak you mentioned in the initial post of this thread. You would have to define the restrictions for each user HKCU in the registry.

In another post you mentioned you are running Win95. The tweak may only work, if you have installed Internet Explorer 5.5. Plus during installation you should have answered Yes to install the desktop upgrade. If this last item is missing, please re-install again (this should find ie55 already ok and just do the desktop upgrade).
