View Full Version : Full Screen
IE 4 had an option to
"Open Browser in Full Screen".
Is it possible to tweak IE 5 to do this?

I understood that if you close the browser while in full-screen mode that when you next open the browser it will open in full-screen mode. At least it does for me in IE 5.5, without any tweaks. Does that help at all?

I have an IE shortcut in the Quick Launch bar. From this shortcut or any other shortcut for IE, right click on it, select Properties and near the bottom you will see the "Run" box with the drop down menu you can select Maximized. Click OK when done.

Additionally, you can follow an eight step procedure to have the "Open in New Window" open in the full screen mode too. (not to be confused with maximized)
1. Right click on blank area of this or any other web page, Select Create Shortcut.
2. Go to new desk top shortcut and double click on it.
3. Click on the title bar and drag it to the upper most, top left hand corner.
4. Place cursor on the bottom right hand corner (to get the angled double arrows) and drag it to the lower most, bottom right hand corner.
5. Hold down Shift key and close the window by clicking on the X in the top right hand corner.
6. Right click on the shortcut and select rename. Rename it frm2new.htm
7. Go to Explorer and expand the directory to C:\Windows\Web and see if a file by that same name exists, if it does then rename it to frm2newold.htm
8. Drag the new desk top shortcut to this folder and you are done.
Note: On a rare occaision something will cause the New Window to open not maximized again. Simply go to the C:\Windows\Web folder, double click on the frm2new.htm file, stretch it out as explained before and you will be back in business.
