Ok, when I run the system configuration utility (msconfig.exe) and select the startup tab I get the list of programs that can be set to run at startup. Well, there are a few programs that are not installed anymore, but their names are still here. I am wondering how to remove these from the menu. They must be in the registry somewhere, but where? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

astro

Simply:

Run regedit.exe (Start>run>regedit)
Browse through these keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\

From there, you should have a few keys titled
"Run-" and "Runservices-". Under those keys, delete any of the strings you would like. You may also need to go through "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" if there are any instances left.

note to self, finish this thing
