when we choose to view a folder as a web page, a scan of the selected file is shown on the left, for example, if a jpeg file is chosen, the picture is shown on the left of the folder. this feature disappeared when i re-installed windows 98. how do i bring it back? thanks a lot! :)

billydee's answer should work.

if not, try these:

Go to Start>Run, and type these lines into the run box (individually)

regsvr32.exe webvw.dll
regsvr32.exe browseui.dll
regsvr32.exe THUMBVW.DLL

Choose View>Refresh from Explorer's menu after trying each.
