PC tools virus?

I had an email from PC tools this AM advising that the new 2010 version is out and ready to download. Went to the PC Tools website (I think) and downloaded it...now my PC is "dead" with just a blank screen and I am unable to get it to do anything...what happened?
Anyone have an idea?

Boot your system to the last good configuration. Hit F8 at boot time.

Make sure that you download only from pctools.com.
