As if it is not bad enough that Windows crashes regularly, I find it immensely frustrating that when I reboot I am reminded that "because windows was not shut down properly", and "to avoid this problem in the future"...

I'd love to change these messages to say "Because Window is such a piece of crap..." and "To avoid this problem in the future try switching to a LINUX box". It's a small, stupid thing that would do me a world of good. I have looked all over the registry, in scandisk.ini, ran a "find" for this text in C:/windows, and looked on the web and USENET, but have not figured out how to do this. Any suggestions?

Note: I am aware of the fact that I can control whether or not scandisk runs. I do want it to run, I just want to change the stupid message.

Thanks

first off, i whole heartedly agree with the message u want to pop up. though i cant help u with changing scandisk, i think u should try out a program called restorator (http://www.bome.com/Restorator/). it reads values from any 32 bit app (inculding dlls) and allows u to make changes and then recompile it. one probelm with it, u have to track down the the file that holds the code for the action. it wont work with the startup scandisk b\c im almost positive it is a 16 bit app, but it change pretty much anything esle u want. but then again ive seen progs that change the color of the background on a blue screen of death (red screen of death???) so dont lose hope
