View Full Version : Removing WIN98 Please help!!

OK thx for reading, in installed a copy of WIN98SE on my PC (6gb hard drive, 32MG ram, PII processor)
It installed fine no probs it boots okay untill it gets to a screen where it's just the hourglass and black b/ground. then my PC freezes, everytime! even in safemode.
Heres my problem i want to remove Windows 98 and restore 95. The help file even tells me how "Go to Start ....."
I can't get to the start menu. Can any one PLEASE! HELP! any info please but i want to know how i can remove win 98 from the DOS Promt (with CD )
Please help me!! MY PC IS MY LIFE!

32MB memory may be a bit tricky with Win98. If you can, try adding another 32MB before giving up with Win98.

now did you try to get into Win98 Safe Mode first?
if not -> hold CTRL pressed during booting, and with much luck you will see a menu to continue, first try if you can enter Safe mode, else try starting without config.sys/autoexec.bat stuff.

else: you may have to re-install WIN95, but if it prompts you to format the disk, say no to keep your data (software will require a re-installation too in such a case). Do you have a recent ERD diskette under Win95 ?
