I could use some assitance in restoring my Windows update feature. Right now all I get is:
Your organization has decided to provide software updates internally rather than through Windows Update. To download updates for your Windows computer, please see your network administrator.
This is a home PC not on a network and started after installing Personal Web Server from the 98SE cd. I needed it for asp, but don't anymore, and can't uninstall it either.
MS help says to delete entries in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Win dowsUpdate\LocalURL
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Win dowsUpdate\RemoteURL
I don't have any of these in the registry. They also said that the WUPDINFO.DLL could be missing or corrupted, but I still think it's related to PWS being installed. Any ideas?
