Hi,
If I unplug the usb connection from my computer and I unplug the electrical cord....Will I lose any info that I have put on this hard drive, when I plug it all back in?
Thanks,
Deb

Deb,

You will not lose any information. Hard drives store data in magnetic disks which do not require electrical power to retain the information. External drives are designed for portability i.e. if you store data on the drive, you can them move that drive to another PC and retain the same data.

J would like to add following:

the USB is designed to be unplugged with a running computer.

But you must take care not to unplug while there is output activity on your USB-disk (a broken input is not dangerous, although an application may terminate if not well coded).

In addition, you may have to first logically disonnect a USB-harddrive from the Windows operating system, this would ensure that all output is really written to the disk. In such a case you probably may have an icon in the systray. Read the manual and/or help file that came with your USB-disk.
