I know you can do it with a Zip disk, but is there a way that I can set a password on a floppy disk so that you can't access the files on it without the password? Or can I password protect a folder on the disk? It doesn't matter how it's done (third party software okay).

ZIP is special hardware and has special driver support for that.
Floppies are a plain open device.
But why not use one of the utilities that create archive files ?
WinZip and others have an option to password protect and / or encrypt the contents. And many of these utilities are freeware / shareware.
