I am running Win98 and when I restart in MS-DOS the computer locks up. Ctrl-alt-del will not restart PC, only the reset button will. DOS programs are needed on this PC. Any ideas out there? Thank You.

are all your device drivers in config.sys (possibly in autoexec.bat) compatible with win98?

I don't know. How would I find out?
Win 98 was loaded over a win 95 OS. Maybe that is a problem there.

Try renaming the Exit To Dos file in the c:\windows directory to Exit To Dos.pi_
Then try it. If that doesn't work:
Post back with the contents of your autoexec.bat and config.sys. Also look for files in the root directory of the c: drive named autoexec.wos or autoexec.dos.
