SD update failed

I just received a pop up telling me a product update of sd is available to install at about 9:40PM Friday night. (2.17mb)
But it failed and I can't use sd as I get a message saying:

There is no updates available as I try again and again

Any help would be appreciated SD v6.1.0.447

That sounds mighty strange. I did a manual smart update last night as well and again this morning. No issues. I have SDA v6.1.0.447.

The only thing that I can suggest is:
o take note of any custom settings that you may have made
o uninstall it
o make sure \program folders\Spyware Doctor does not exist
o re-install it
o re-apply your custom settings

OK haapy I'll uninstall/reinstall now

btw, I tried a reboot last night but no difference

I have a feeling that your Winsock LSP got compromised, so if the re-install does not work, there is another fix to reset the Winsock LSP.

I just reinstalled sd
It seems running ok now

If you have Ccleaner, run a cleanup and registry followed by a full SD scan.

I do not know what KIS is, but you need to run a full anti-virus scan. Avira free is one of the best.

I have already used ccleaner to cleam the registry and rebooted
KIS - Kaspersky Internet Security - just done a quick scan - clean
I did a intelli scan - clean
