hayes v90 56K pci modem

I have recently bought this modem and am unable to get it to connect at more than 37333bps. My old connexant would connect much faster. I have tried the reg fix on this site and have checked the connection speed in modem properties. Does anybody have any ideas how I can get it to connect at a quicker speed?

you should check your local telephone company, to see what kind of services do you have, or if your house is too far away from their station; the telephone line, to see if they are too old, or your line connects to too many telephones. At last, i suggest to use the high speed telephone line, such as monster high speed data line. They cost more but do have effect on your speed. Good luck!!
