HomeAntiVirus2010 Won't go away

Hi,

Spyware Doctor with the AntiVirus engine has detected HomeAntiVirus2010 on my system, but can't seem to clean it.

Every time I run a scan it detects it and claims to have fixed it, but every time I re-boot, it's back again.

What's the deal ? I also found a post online hosted by PCTools with manual instructions, but, despite not finding any of the files it said to delete, it's still on my system.

Try malwarebytes antimalware with full scan option from malwarebytes.org.

It is free and a good backup standalone scanner, no online protection, so it will not conflict with SD/AV.

Many of these rogue products mutate.

Since you indicated that you have Spyware Doctor with Anti-virus, I am moving this thread to the Spyware Doctor Forum.

This could be a new variant of HomeAntivirus 2010. Could you follow the instructions in this thread (http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55923) and we can check this out further.
