After doinig intelli-scans, I occasionally get the usual Adware/Tracking Cookies, then remove them, I then use Disk Cleanup and then reboot.

I then immediately do another intelli-scan (without starting Firefox), and I get more Adware/Tracking cookies, (These are different from the ones I just deleted).

Intelli-scans are usually clean on the third scan.

Sometimes I disable System Restore while doing the above procedure, but it doesn't help.

Is this normal? Any explanation as to why?

Thanks

Try disabling 3rd party cookies in FF and IE.

You will always get ad related 3rd party cookies unless you disable them.

Try CCleaner to remove junk files and cookies. Good safe tool.

Use it prior to SD scan.

Disabling System Restore wipes out all your restore points. Not a good practice. If you want to get rid of old restore points use Microsoft Disk Cleanup, options System Restore. Keeps the latest Restore Point. A good safety net.

I'll try disabling 3rd party cookies in FF.
I don't use IE (although I have IE8 installed) and some of the adware I get comes from there. 3rd party cookies are already disabled in IE.

Thanks haapy

It appears that in FireFox 3 +, FF does not save the cookies to disk, hence SD cannot remove these cookies unless you have exited FF. This is why SD will pick up cookies when you exit FF. Hope this helps :)
