Say you are running spyware doctor with AV (version 6.1.0.447) on vista ultimate 32bit and you disable intelliguard permanently thus computer immunisation is off are you still protected by threatfire? I note in task manager that TFService is still running.

Hi Lucid,
If you have SD with the BHG (TF plugin) disabled, the TF service will still run in Task Manager and BHG will not keep you protected when disabled.

thanks for that info...
yes all of intelliguard is disabled so i guess that means behaviour guard too. :D
Thats good actually as i'm testing KIS2010 on the lappy so didn't want any HIPS issues with the apps interfering with each other and didn't want to have to uninstall my SD+AV while doing it.
Was doing some testing the other week found SD+av was not catching a variety of trojans with the scanner though i bet it would get them if i executed them. Wanted to see how KIS faired.
Theres a guy who tests these and puts up you tube vids of his tests, SD+AV did very well cleaning this pc that was riddled with all sorts. The KIS2010 is still v new but is very strong. But it's not for the faint hearted I'd say or the average user. So many settings and layers really is too much, keeps you safe but you keep having to disable parts of it to do things. Sd has a much better user interface.
Pc tools firewall aso scored well in other tests i saw, ditching zonealarm free from any pcs that still have it after it scored a 8% stop rate as compared to PC tools 86%. The KIS killed my PC tools firewall on install (auto uninstalled it) but thankfully left sd+av alone as I'd switched it off.
