So far this week I am getting a few green pop ups from SD 6.0.1.447 requiring me to reboot. Just wondering why so many green pop ups?

The green notification is generally related to a normal update where a specific file requires a reboot. Also, if the update is set to 'Silent download' in Smart update actions.
Do you have the AV and/or PCTFW installed on your system?

So you do not have the PCTFW installed either?

Thanks. Could you go into SD-> Settings-> Smart Update action: and if it is on "Download and install updates (silently) can you change it to "Download and install updates (notify me) and see if you are still receiving the green reboot notice. If it is happening for both, could you just go to "Do not check for updates" and try running a manual update.

It is already set at Notify Me. Just I am replying to your post, I got another Green Pop Up - Reboot Reqiured lol
I have now changed it to Do Not Check For Updates
Why is this happening Achen?

Achen, I have set Smart Update Action to:
Do not check for updates;
Download and install update (silenly);
Download and install updates (notify me);
Notify me about available updates;
Each day I have set a different action and each time I get a message to reboot after an update. I get a green pop up with each options except Do not check for updates. where I just get a window across the screen

You might try uninstalling, deleting the \program files\spyware doctor if it exists and re-installing.
Often that cures quirky behavior.

Is this happening _more than_ once per day?
If yes, how many per day (on average)?

By the way, I noticed in add/remove that SD was 494MB in size.
What should it be?

I forgot to ask if there is a known issue with SD and Windows Live Messenger?
90% of the time when I boot up with SD Windows Live Messenger does not sign in automatically. I've previously had probems with SD with various issues and during those problems I did not have SD installed for a week at a time.

I have live messenger on my test pc. I use it every now and then and all is OK. You have to set the preferences to have it start up with Windows.
I do not have it start automatically.
BTW.. make sure that you have the latest Windows live. I think it is 14. I had to do a manual update to get it. All components changed.

I have Windows Live Messenger version 2009 (Build 14.0.8064.206) I asume this is the latest.
All preferences are set to automatic sign in at windows startup.
Any idea as to why SD was 494MDMB on my pc?
A few weeks ago when I installed SD beta, the size of it was 1095MB

Yes your Windows Live is the current build.
What file system are you using NTFS or FAT32?

This is strange...
I had to check my up time since it's been so long since I've rebooted.
My SD with AV is .477 and is up to date. I honestly can not remember the last time I had a Green Pop Up telling me to reboot.
Shouldn't you just uninstall the program and reinstall it? :confused:

I am using NTFS on Drive C, Drive D is FAT32
I have corrected my earlier post regarding the latest beta version, the siize was 1095MB not 10095MB - a typo on my part.
BenJr, I have uninstalled/reinstalled sd a few times now

I have just reinstalled sd 6.1.0447 and the size of the program is now a more respectable 94.37MB in size. I hope that I don't get any more green pop ups next week!
