A while back several reported that sd+av was showing 1 infection ignored but not describing the infection. We were told to ignore it as this outcome would be fixed in some future build.

Today I 447 automatically downloaded and I scanned for the first time with it. It scanned clean and for the first time in weeks, probably months showed no infection ignored, on the screen that appears right after the scan.

I was going to post and thank achen for forwarding this problem and having it corrected. I checked history first, though, and when looking at the history it showed no infections as it should but 1 infection ignored, a different report than the screen that appears right after the scan.

This was a full scan.

whoops my reading error.
The screen that appears right after the scan, simply eliminated the line for infections ignored, rather than report 1 infection ignored.

That's a bit disconcerting as it doesn't explain anything, it just seems to hide the problem.

Hi tigertheboo,

We have removed the ignored infection notification in this current build to stop any confusion and hopefully in the next major release, we will display this information.

thank achen

still it is puzzling what is being ignored.

humor but real: I resubscribed to sd+av. My credit card had been very active as I'm prepaying a trip. No problem. But when I resubscribed the small bill for SD+AV showed up as coming from Ireland (I'm midwest USA) and that triggered a full security call from my credit card company and if I hadn't been home to answer the call they would have stopped my credit card until i called them.

Most ignored items are items users add to the GAL.

Regarding the billing, our billing provider (Element5) is also located in Ireland :p

I have no items in my GAL
I wonder if it is al lingering problem as I have not done a clean install (and don't want to do a clean install unless I have to) for a while.

Last clean install lost all my numbers and I had to put them in manually, so have been shy about doing one for a while.

Anyway, GAL is empty and except once when I put in a suspect fp (that was an fp) has always been empty

Any other ideas?

thanks

There you have it.
No items in the GAL and SD still says he has "ignored infections".

PCT developers are just brain-dead on this issue.
Let's see if we can help them out by defining it for them.

High level definition:
Never say that there is _any_ kind of infection without saying what (file name) and where (full path name) it is.

Next level:
Any item that a customer puts in the GAL is not to be considered an infection _of any kind_ by PCT. By definition, period.

Other ideas?
