I've been running both since February. The only problem I've found is that running both at once causes them to draaaaaaaaaag. So, I do a SD scan first, then run a NIS scan.

No problems here, no slow downs. I hope PC Tools is following up on NIS 2010 so both will work as well together when NIS 2010 comes out of beta. :D

Could you go into MyAccount and disable the AV component if you have this enabled. Also, disable the Behavior Guard addon and see if this helps. If you do not have access to MyAccount send me your license code through a Private Message and I can disable these components for you if you like. It will be good to see what could be causing the problem as we haven't been able to reproduce the conflict with SD and NIS 2009.

What works well for others may not work as well for you. Remember that all pc's are set up differently including both hardware and software. There could be a conflict with something else on your system as well. You have to make sure that you are running ONLY 1 antivirus, so pick one that you prefer. So if you have norton, make sure SD does not have the AV enabled. If you have real time protection on one software, make sure the others are off.

Yea i suppose. Yea i had SD antivirus disabled and it still froze:( i dont have any other security products on my computer other than norton internet security 2009. I really did want SD because its a really good spyware remover. But i cant think what could be causing the freezing and stuff:confused:

You also have to make sure that kernel compatibility mode is enabled in Spyware Doctor.

Did you have any Norton products installed prior to NIS 2009?
If so, there is probably a lot of left over crap that Norton never uninstalls.
You might want to uninstall NIS 2009 and go to the Symantec site and run the removal tool>
I found the Norton removal tool here:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...&src=symsug_us
Also make sure that Live update is uninstalled.
If not, then I would try uninstalling NIS 2009 and SD, then install SD first to make sure it works stand alone, then re-install NIS 2009.
Its worth a shot.

If you have HiJackThis, run it and post the log. I will take a look at it.
If you do not have it you can get it from Trend Micro.

Hi Ryanm353,
Do you have Norton Safe Web enabled. If so you may want to disable it and see if S/D and NIS work together on you computer. I have noticed that when I enable Norton Safe Web, my computer will sometimes freeze. Disable Norton Safe Web, Re-Boot the computer (to be safe) and see if that solves your problem. :)
Hi, yea its disabled =/

There are possible conflicts with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and IObit Advanced SystemCare 3.
If disabling them does not help to resolve your problem, you may try to disable others listed above, but I don't think Yahoo Search Protection, uTorrent and Eset onlinescanner are the cause of it. Who knows though...

It is NOT Malwarebytes. MBAM co-exists with SD quite well as it is not active protection, rather stand alone scanning.
I'll bet it is Iobit. The follwoing is from their website.
