Hey everybody!
Got a problem. Files for the Help System in WinME seem to have disappeared. I was able to extract the first 1 (HCAPPRES.DLL) from the CD but now it says I am missing "marscore.dll". Looked for it in the CAB files on the CD but can't find it. Anyone have suggestions? Also if you could explain to me how the files disappeared in the first place I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Chuck

saintchuck,
These files are all located in the c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\Binares directory. Double-click on the helpctr.exe file in that directory.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I looked in the directory you indicated and the only to files were HELPCTR and HCUPDATE. When I double clicked on HELPCTR I received a "marscore.dll not found" error.

Somehow, mine are there. Mine was a free OEM upgrade.
I can't find that file in any cab file on my machine.

I appreciate your trying to help. Looks like I get to sit on hold waiting for a MS rep. I'll let you know what I find out.

Everything is fixed. Called MS Support yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the short wait. The technician walked me through the same things that I had already tried, ie looking through the .cab files, etc, as well as other things that made no sense to me and seemed completely unrelated to the fact that my problem was a missing file, such as starting using selective startup with nothing selected so that the minimum amount of things loaded. It amazed me that the technician could tell me nothing about what the file was for or where it was located. After a couple of hours on the line (I suspect they own shares in Sprint) he finely went to the old standby of re-installing Windows over itself and the missing file was created and now everything works fine.
Thank you reghakr for the assistance.
