Hey guys, i currently have 3 computers, 2 are running on Windows XP and one is running on Vista. What is your sense, should, I be planning on upgrading to Windows7. I am a Pro user. I am also very interested in knowing, how are you thinking through the upgrade process. Is there anything very compelling with Windows 7, that we cannot live with? Thanks- greatly appreciate your help

Windows 7, from what I can see looks like a great product and is a lot cheaper to upgrade than Vista when it first hit the market. there are plenty of new features that sort of imitate the Mac GUI, but still it offers compelling performance upgrades when compared to Vista incompatibilities. Essentially, it is an upgraded version of Windows Vista, I have been beta testing it for a while and it appears to be solid, in addition it also takes less ram to run and install with than Vista's enormous 1GB prerequisite. Overall, it does appear to be an excellent product, however I am not sure if they offer an upgrade that will not re-format your hard-drive upon installation. Nonethless, we will just have to wait and see!

I agree with sciencewis1. Got the best of Vista and XP. Seems lite and nimble... to me matches XP on my 1gb 2.4mz box. Not as intrusive as Vista and some of my older peripherals that didn't work under Vista worked with Win7. Seems like a definite path for Vista users. XP users with a well oiled PC may choose to wait a bit as with every new system there are bound to be bugs.

I personally will be upgrading my Vista boxes and let the XP boxes wait. The advantages of getting off Vista are far greater than getting off XP.
