Actually, this question was already asked by another user but no answers have been made. I tried to change my registry (based on Winguide's help file) but nothing happens when i restart my pc. I tried all other samples and still nothing happens /images/w3t/icons/frown.gif. Is there something i needed to do to apply those changes?? pls help.
im using win98se

No, there is nothing to "turn on" to make your registry changes apply. You just have to make sure that you are modifying the appropiate keys to affect the change.
Do you have any specifics you want to discuss?

Ok, i tried to "Hide Drives in My Computer" and i wrote the exact keys as given in the guide, but unfortunately it doesn't work.. I tried the other samples(especially those in the "Security" category) ... Or is there anything (like apps, services or another Registry key) that prevent the changes to take effect???
pls help me again.. thank you

concerning the (not) hidden drives:
after setting the key, did you logoff / logon ? it may depend on the point in time when Windows Explorer pick the value.
did you download TweakUI.cpl and try setting from there ?
