iAntiVirus conflict with Gimp

Gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program) Version 2.6.6 wouldn't start with iAntiVirus installed (image window didn't open). Uninstalled iAntiVirus, reinstalled Gimp, and now Gimp works perfectly. Any advice on how I could reinstall iAntiVirus without interfering with Gimp (or possibly X11)?

Using an iMac7,1 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, running OS X 10.5.6

Thanks for the info, I'll give this a test and see if we can recreate the problem.
