Is anyone else using Windows Live Mail for POP3 email on a Windows XP SP3 (Home Edition) computer with PCTools Antivirus (PCTAV) version 6?
With PCTAV version 5 my incoming and outgoing emails were scanned OK by PCTAV and the message confirming this had happened was added to all incoming and outgoing emails. With PCTAV version 6 this appears to no longer work in that there is no sign that PCTAV scans the incoming and outgoing emails and even though the relevant setting is switched on no message is added by PCTAV to the end of these emails. This has been the case for all releases so far of version 6 including v6.0.0.19. The only other security software I have installed, which was also present when I had PCTAV version 5 installed, is Windows Defender.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Can anybody (Anthony?) say if it's likely that this function will be restored in PCTAV at some point. Meanwhile rather than returning to PCTAV version 5 I've installed the demo version of Norton AV 2009 which does successfully scan both my incoming and outgoing emails.
Regards,
Jonathan B
