View Full Version : Noticed a really small GUI miss :D

Hi there!

When installing TF on the Windows 7 RC, I noticed a little miss in the GUI of the main-window. Please see the attachement where I've pointed it out. ;)

Why it's a miss? Everything else has the darker line around it except that part.

And when I'm still at it, I don't see any of the two GUI-changes I suggested already during the beta being a part of any of the new builds...

Thanks Raven.

Daniel/Becky will comment on this when they see this thread.

Thanks, Raven. We'll make a note of the Windows 7 issue.

Your other GUI suggestions are on the back-burner for now for a couple of reasons. They mostly pertained to spacing issues with English. But changing the language setting also changes the layout of that page and in some other languages your suggestions don't apply. But more importantly, that "Did you know?" page is scheduled to be re-designed/re-purposed in a later release so we didn't want to devote resources to making changes now since bigger changes are in store down the road. :)

Thanks a lot for the answers, mods. Unfortunately, what's on my screenshot does not only apply to Windows 7 - that missing line applies everywhere. XP, Vista, you name it - cause it's a general miss in the interface of the main-window.

Hmm, that's strange. I don't see the missing line on either Vista Home Premium or Vista Business. But it seems we do have some other Vista systems where it is missing, so we'll definitely note this. Thanks for pointing it out!

That line is missing on my computer too. I am using Windows XP.

I have thought of a "compromise" for the "Loading..."-text suggestion. Instead of changing the one up most up to the left of the two like I suggested, which would probably cause problem with spacing for other languages like you said, you could instead take the one most to the right and move it so it's in the same location in its own frame like the one to the left.

If you don't get what I mean, I'll gladly illustrate it by editing a screenshot. ;)

And BTW, like saner I'm using XP as the other OS (and it's my main-OS).

I get what you mean. :)

I'll see if we can get this one taken care of sooner rather than later. Should be a quick fix...

Just on the missing line it appears to be missing in all the pages/frames/tabs/whatever except for settings where Scan appears to have a double line (edge of button and the frame border next to each other perhaps).

A list of places where the line is missing (in XP atleast). I can grab screenshots if they are really needed

'System Status' in Security Status
'Total' under 'Protection Status' in Security Status
'PC Tools AntiVirus' in Start Scan
'Protection Log' in Threat Control
'System Activity Monitor' in Advanced Tools

Hi Raven--

Just wanted to let you know that the "Loading..." text issue in System Activity Monitor was fixed in TF 4.5. They're finally lined up evenly in both left and right panes. Much better now! :)

Yes, thank you Becky - I actually did notice that change. :)
