I've just installed the fix to stop SD (6.0.1.440) wiping my HDD every time I install stuff, as per my other thread, however now every time I start up my computer, SD prompts me to run an Intelli-scan.

This is an option which you can configure in SD. Click the Settings button in SD to open the General Settings page. There you can uncheck "Run Scan on Windows Startup".

"Run Scan on Windows Startup" isn't ticked.

Try uninstalling it, making sure that the \program folders\spyware doctor is deleted, reboot, reinstall, apply the fix.

Tried. Still prompts at every boot.

I think this is caused by the lenghth of time it takes to boot your pc. I had the same problem, removed a number of non essentiels from the Windows startup and now it works fine.

Hope this helps.

msconfig -> Startup only starts Avast, SD, Winamp, and my proxy server. PC only takes about 30 seconds from turn on to ready to use.

Hmmm. Have you tried actually running the intelliscan on one of the prompts?

If you have and this still persists, then there is another issue. If so, might have to PM achen and include this thread for further investigation.

Same thing happens here also.

I never get an Intelliscan prompt while booting, and I have lots of stuff which load on startup. It has got to be something else which is triggering the Intelliscan request. Perhaps Intelliscan is detecting very outdated software which is easily hacked? I dunno.

Hi Guys,

This is a known bug (SD running intelli-scan on boot-up) on Vista 64 bit operating systems. This should be resolved in the next major release.

Can't you do a temporary patch or something (e.g. do an automatic No to the prompt) to kill it while you fix it properly?
