I queried this forum in my previous postings about if SpyDoc-.440 would be compatible with my already installed McAfee Sec'y Ctr-(w/AV), and was advised I could either uninstall McAfee completely and just have SpyDoc, or just install SpyDoc .440 without the AV plug-in-(this would be my preferred choice, as I'd like to keep McAfee for its AV component). My additional question is how compatible is SpyDoc .440 with some of these other malware/AV standalaone programs-(MalwareBytes, Avira, SpyBot, etc? I had a couple of these-(SpyBot, Ad-Aware, on my old Dell, which also had both SpyDoc .386 and McAfee Sec'y Ctr-(w/AV), as back-up AV/Malware scanners, w/o any problems, but my new Dell is Vista Home Premium/SP1, so that difference alone-(old Dell ran XP/SP2), gives me pause. From what I've read in this forum, SpyDoc sometimes misses some detections that these other standalone scanners occasionally find. Any thoughts?? Thanks!!!!

You did not state Spyware Doctor with Antivirus or Spyware Doctor woithout Anti-virus, so I will address both.

With SD/AV you should not have any other active AV.

With SD you can have the active AV of your choice, but only one.

Both Malwarebytes and Avira co-exist with both products and are excellent backup standalone scanners.. If you have Avira you must disable the onguard protection if you have another active AV product.

As far as Spybot, it is kind of not worth dealing with if you have Malwarebytes. I have not used it in a long time but there have been conflicts in the past. If you choose to use it, do not enable Teatimer as it will conflict.

Okay Haapy, thanks for the info, I researched MalwareBytes program and it sounds like a really decent back-up scanner to have-(in add'n to my SpyDoc and McAfee), however the only problem is the are still working on a Vista 64bit version of this program, any idea when it will be available?

Ah, sorry about that over sight. You will have to get that info from the malwarebytes.org website. You can try Spuerantispyware fre as an alternative, but I do not know if they are 64bit ready or not. If you try this one, make sure you disable the online component.
