Hi users. I am new here. I have been running Webroot for several years and encountered a problem they can't fix, yet. I am looking for an antivirus program that will fix it and I will go with it, which is why I am checking out PCTools, freeware at this point.
The problem I am having: I keep getting a popup trying to take me to a virus removal program that LOOKS like a Microsoft product, but is not. It says "VirusRemoval2009". I kept getting infections by the name of Mal/Fake (and the end letters change each time. Webroot took them out at each scan, but they came right back 3 minutes later. I disabled Webroot and am trying PCTools. PCTools pretty much killed it (it did come up every 2 or 3 minutes and then massive popups and had a red dot with an X in it in the lower right hand side of the info bar at the bottom of the screen), but now it only comes up every 5 or so minutes, a lot better, but not good enough. No red X anymore though. Anyone able to help with this?
I bought McAfee Internet Security 2009 to try, but haven't installed yet pending how PCTools works out. I also haven't yet rescribed to Webroot yet either pending what I can find to fix it (they let me down). I will go with the fixing program. (writing this I have been sent off 4 times into popup land)
Thanks in advance.

Hi
This is a fake/rogue antispyware program that has got onto your system. Please try scanning with Malwarebytes' AntiMalware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php).
