I just downloaded build 6.0.1.440 of Spyware Doctor and have noticed that when I go to access my browser (IE 7.0) that there is a 10 to twelve second delay everytime in it opening, where before it opened in a flash. I deleted it and ran registry cleaner, downloaded a fresh copy and the same thing. I went back to 6.0.0.386 and I'm back to normal. I'm running Vista with SP-1. Thanks for any help!

I have exactly the same and I did a cleen uninstall befor installing the new version. I haven't got round to roling it back as I changed to IE8 and am hoping the problem will be sorted as its uncleare if the old version of 6 protects IE8. If the adverse effect isn't sorted will have to either role back IE and SD or change product as on my other PC as you say IE opens very fast with the old version of SD running.

My guess is that IE versions later than IE6 are a bit less integrated into the OS for security reasons, and that they only fully integrate with the OS when they are launched? If this is the case, then this possibly could explain why SD imposes an initial delay while it scans all dll's and ActiveX controls which get loaded? This is just a crazy thought on my behalf.

One thing which I did note with SD .386 is that Yahoo Toolbar makes IE crawl if Intelliscan is turned on. I also had issues with the Paypal Toolbar and I emailed Paypal CS about it. But that issue isn't related to SD.

Thanks for the replies. I hope they're aware of this and it's corrected or at least this older build is kept available and supported with updates...
