Problem starting PCTAV

Hello,

i install today PCTAV (i am running PCTFW also (witout problems). When i rebbot my machine i cannot load my Windows XP System it stops from Loading into GUI Mode. I try to start in Secure Mode but fails. The only way was to start it with the last known working config. PCTAV fails to start with Error Code 102. what can i do?

Please be aware that PC Tools staff do not work on weekends. They are also based in Australia so support will be during their working hours, I expect someone looking in at about 11:00pm GMT+1.
Unfortunately I can't help you as I have no idea what error code 102 is!

ok here is the log it seems cannot find the service??? I reinstall, reinstall but no effect.

OK, thanks for the information, lets see what we can do.

Did you install the AV when the firewall was already installed? Did you receive any prompts from the firewall during installation? Any other security software installed?

I installed the AV with FW enabled an disabled no effect the same. The Firewall is currently deinstalled to see if there is a problem with it but the same AV cannot find the service after install and reboot. The Service is not more shown under section Services or msconfig. I don't have any other resident Security solutions on my machine.

It sounds like the installer is not creating the required registry changes, it might be corrupt. Please download a fresh copy from here (http://www.pctools.com/mirror/avinstall.exe) and try with that.

on my computer the file is 42.7 Mb is it possible that the installer is coruppted please check thx.

You might want to run this:

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose

I try it. Now PCTAV want start because tells me that i have to log in as Admin to complete the registration process. But my user account is the admin account so whats wrong here? However PCTAV is deinstalled at the moment because when is installed i cannot boot my machine anymore nor in normal nor in secure mode. So what can i do tu run PCTAV i don'T understand why there is so difficult.

Error 102 means the service is not starting for some strange reason. We require some additonal info to investigate this further. Could you please see the PM that I sent.
